چکیده

Abstract. Camera traps generating a huge number of images help to study and monitor the wildlife. However, camera work at any time day under weather conditions. Therefore, many have low or high illumination, blurring, other defects. This complicates image analysis by both humans computer systems. In this study, we develop an adaptive illumination correction algorithm based on modified Multi-Scale Retinex (MSR). First, accelerate computation using recursive implementation Gaussian filter utilizing look-up tables find logarithms new brightness values. Second, response MSR function is transformed threshold normalization improve quality. The upper lower thresholds are calculated statistical information. Finally, offer automatic adjustment parameters depending area in order increase usability. Proposed was tested with various settings set obtained from traps. Experimental results show potential for its application.

Entropy-guided Retinex anisotropic diffusion algorithm based on partial differential equations (PDE) for illumination correction

Abstract This report describes the experimental results obtained using a proposed variational Retinex algorithm for controlled illumination correction. Two colour restoration and enhancement schemes of the algorithm are presented for drastically improved results. The algorithm modifies the reflectance image using global and local contrast enhancement approaches and gradually removes the residua...

Illumination Processing Recognition of Face Images Based on Improved Retinex Algorithm

In order to change the defects of the similar traditional Retinex algorithm that it is easy to appear the "Halo" phenomenon in the illumination image acquisition process, we proposed a study on the face images recognition under the illumination condition based on the improved Retinex Algorithm, which is based on the Retinex Theory Algorithm defects and analyzes the brightness, contrast rate of ...

Illumination Correction on Biomedical Images

RF-Inhomogeneity Correction (aka bias) artifact is an important research field in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Bias corrupts MR images altering their illumination even though they are acquired with the most recent scanners. Homomorphic Unsharp Masking (HUM) is a filtering technique aimed at correcting illumination inhomogeneity, but it produces a halo around the edges as a side effect. In ...

Mission-critical monitoring based on surround suppression variational Retinex enhancement for non-uniform illumination images

In this letter, a surround suppression variational Retinex enhancement algorithm (SSVR) is proposed for non-uniform illumination images. Instead of a gradient module, a surround suppression mechanism is used to provide spatial information in order to constrain the total variation regularization strength of the illumination and reflectance. The proposed strategy preserves the boundary areas in t...

Using the Random Sprays Retinex Algorithm for Global Illumination Estimation

In this paper the use of Random Sprays Retinex (RSR) algorithm for global illumination estimation is proposed and its feasibility tested. Like other algorithms based on the Retinex model, RSR also provides local illumination estimation and brightness adjustment for each pixel and it is faster than other path-wise Retinex algorithms. As the assumption of the uniform illumination holds in many ca...
